Focusing on Eastern Shore Traditions

Jan Baker’s Fourth Street Gallery focuses on Eastern Shore traditions reflecting the natural beauty unique to our area -- blue crabs, the ocean, wildlife, shells, and so much more! Jan and her husband Jim, a lapidary artist and native of Denton, team up to create the Dancing Waters line of artisan jewelry. Located in the heart of Denton, Jan's Gallery is a gift shop that offers her original paintings and re-purposed art along with hand-crafted jewelry. Licensed and insured, Jan Baker's Fourth Street Gallery is a proud member of the Caroline County Council of Arts.

About Our Owner

Jan Baker established our company to showcase her artwork and others’ work in the area. Her original creations, which document the picturesque scenes of the area, have been lauded by the public and featured in numerous galleries, shows and periodicals.

Her painting, "Eastern Shore Blues" was presented to Salisbury university by Dr. Amy Stephens Meekins and family as the eight gift representing the Eastern Shore Art Collection.

If you are a local, chances are you have seen Jan's art. One of Jan's Graphic designs was even highlighted during an opening Day for the Baltimore Orioles!

Capturing the beauty of the Eastern Shore and recording it for posterity is something Jan thoroughly enjoys.

Jan’s Portfolio includes:

  • Graphic Design
  • Lettering

  • Screen Paintings
  • Traditional Paintings

Because of the wide variety of mediums she uses -- acrylics, oils, pastels, and pen and ink -- Jan's art always has a different look and feel. Prepare to be charmed and delighted! Jan brings to life an antiquated form of folk art known as screen painting. Take note if you are  one of today's discriminating art connoisseurs.

Jan and Jim have traveled the shore and even the United States to collect and surface-mine gemstones, petrified wood, shells, and other beautiful bits of nature to create the focal points of their jewelry and Jan's art. Stop by today to choose a lovely, unique gift for someone you love or even yourself. Be sure to ask! You never know what intriguing story lies behind the many creations in Jan Baker's Fourth Street
